Ashtead Engineering is a manufacturer of precision components based in West Byfleet in Surrey. Their 10-workstation network was over a decade old and needed upgrading to cope with the demands of an expanding organisation. Pro Drive helped Ashtead Engineering move their IT systems to the next level, with the very latest network technology tailored specifically for their environment.

Minimum downtime, maximum productivity First, we assessed their hardware and upgraded PCs that fell below specification. Then we designed and planned the upgrade right down to the last detail to minimise disruption. As timing was crucial, we carried out the network installation over a weekend.

“We have people who come into work at 7.30am,” says John Morrell, Production Director of Ashtead Engineering. Pro Drive were there when they arrived on Monday to attend o them first. They then sat at everybody’s desk to make sure they were happy. Any little glitches were instantly sorted out. We were very pleased with it all.”

A total IT solution

Pro Drive now handles all of Ashtead Engineering’s IT requirements. We carry out a daily automated backup and spend a half day on site every month, to make sure everything keeps running smoothly. “Pro Drive are easy to work with, polite on the phone and they react immediately”, says Morrell. “Whenever we’ve had a problem, they’ve sorted it out instantly. Everything is working well. We’re very happy with the service they’re providing.”
