Our client, a large foreign asset management company, provides investment management services to international clients.
They engaged Pro Drive IT to consult on migrating their email from on premise servers that were nearing their end of support to the Microsoft 365 cloud. it was subsequently determined that a wider project brief encompassing Microsoft Intune was required to ensure the level of security required by the company.

THE CHALLENGES
The email systems were nearing end of support from Microsoft and they faced a choice between an upgrade server systems or migrating to Microsoft 365. The in-house team had minimal experience with Microsoft 365, but the business was keen to avoid upgrading servers.
The changes needed to be implemented within a tight timeframe to be able to decommission the on-premise infrastructure before the end of support. Additionally, given the lack of Microsoft 365 experience there was a need to upskill the in-house team on the new platform.
Given the nature of their business, our client required a high level of security both in terms of the solution to be implemented and operationally while configuring existing systems to work with the new platform.
THE APPROACH
After conducting a series of discovery sessions, Pro Drive IT identified and scoped the requirements for a migration to Microsoft 365, as well as identifying several key items that would also need to be addressed in order to satisfy the security requirements of the business. A plan was developed that utilised the existing skills and resources within the business where possible.
Pro Drive provided consultation and guidance throughout the project, working with our internal team to deliver the proposed solution according to best practice, whilst working within the constraints of the security requirements of our business
Using a staged approach and working alongside the in-house team, Pro Drive configured a secure Microsoft 365 environment, migrated endpoints and user data and configured an ongoing security service ensuring compliance with the latest standards and change monitoring.
THE RESULTS
Our client achieved a migration at lower cost than an upgrade of the existing servers and implemented improved device management and security capabilities while maintaining a seamless end user experience and full compliance with their strict security requirements.
